Non-Discriminatory Policy

Every person, as a child of God, regardless of race, condition, or age, has equal dignity and an inalienable right to an education. Therefore, no qualified student will be denied admission to this school or the participation in any school sponsored program or activity, on the basis of race, color, sex, ethnic or national origin.


Admission Policy

Saint Joachim School uses California State law and Diocesan policy to determine the age for admitting children into the following grades:

  • Transitional Kindergarten: 4 years old as of September 1

  • Kindergarten: 5 years old as of September 1

  • First Grade: 6 years old as of September 1


California State law requires the following documents to be on file in the office before a child can attend school:

  • Copies of Birth & Baptismal Certificates for all Catholic students at time of registration. Non-Catholic students must provide birth certificates.


Admission Priority Scale

  1. Siblings of students already in school

  2. Registered parishioners

  3. Catholics from surrounding parishes without a school

  4. If space is available, Catholics active in other parishes

  5. Students who have been on our waiting list for more than one year, meeting the above conditions in priority order


Successful completion of an entrance exam and an interview with the principal are prerequisites for admission. New students are on academic and behavior probation for one (1) year.


Your admission to Saint Joachim School carries with it your commitment to:

  • Support the school policies and philosophies

  • Complete parent service hours or pay the fee of $400

  • Fundraise for the school so the profit is $500 or pay the $500 charge

  • SCRIP- Each family is obligated to use SCRIP program of $100 profit or buy out at $200

  • Keep tuition payments and fees current- single payment or monthly payment through FACTS

  • Participate in and contribute monetarily to Saint Joachim Parish 

  •  Participate in events and activities of the school and the parish as able
